Planets
Pick a planet. Start there.
Each circle is a world. Tap it. Read the short story. The colors help you tell them apart.
Planet
Earth
Earth is our home. It has liquid water, air we can breathe, and one Moon. The space station loops around it.
We leave Earth to look back at it, and to practice living off the ground.
- Width
- About 7,900 miles (12,700 km) across
- Distance from the Sun
- 1 AU, about 93 million miles
The short note is the one to read first. The longer note is extra, if you want it.
Widths, not distances
The slider changes how easy the small worlds are to see. Jupiter is still the big one. This drawing is not how far apart they are.
Approximations of diameter only. Real Jupiter is about 11 Earths across. The Sun is left out on purpose — it is about 109 Earths wide and would erase the rest.
