Solar system scale

Earth, the Moon, Mars, and Jupiter, with the honest gap: Jupiter is about 11 Earths wide, and the distances between them are a different drawing.

Draw four circles. The Moon is about a quarter of Earth’s width. Mars is about half. Jupiter is about eleven Earths across.

Do not try to draw the gaps on the same page. The Moon is about 30 Earths away. Jupiter is vastly farther. Width and distance are different facts.

Write “approximate” under the drawing. Real missions use better numbers than a classroom circle.

Our Space Mission is a learning site we made ourselves. We do not work for NASA, SpaceX, ESA, CSA, or JAXA. We send you to their real pages so you can watch and read there.
